I live in a blight-filled area of Michigan called Cottrellville Township. Over the last five years, Cottrellville Township has turned into an extremely ugly place to live in throughout quite a few areas. No matter where you live in Cottrellville Township, you don't need to look far to find blight. Speaker Wire is a Confusing Product!

Recently I decided to buy some new speaker wire for my A/V Receiver. According to reports and brochures, the top-rated speaker wire you should use with an A/V Receiver is 12-gauge wire. The 12-gauge wire is useful for long wire runs and also useful on shorter wire runs because the larger amount of copper provides less resistance for electricity (a very good thing). But while doing research and examining products, I became very disappointed by the fact that key pieces of information are usually left out of speaker wire products.

I would like to clarify a few things about speaker wire. Ironically, as the "gauge" of the wire becomes smaller, the speaker wire actually increases in size. This improves the quality of the wire because it decreases the electrical resistance. Taking advantage of high-quality speaker wire can actually help give added life to your A/V Receiver or Amplifier.

One of the primary qualities often advertised by manufacturers of speaker wire is something called "Oxygen-Free" wire. The reason this feature is important is because oxygen can "oxidize" the copper in the wire. When speaker wire becomes oxidized (similar to rusted), it will increase the electrical resistance in the wire. Consequently, the sound quality will decrease and electrical problems in an amplifier may be generated.

I recently learned that one of the biggest problems with speaker wire is the way products are falsely advertised. I'm referring to the fact that a countless number of manufacturers advertise "Copper" speaker wire. But in reality the copper speaker wire has an aluminum core that is only "coated" with copper. If you buy 12-gauge aluminum wire that is coated with copper, it may only offer the benefits of 16-gauge "pure copper" wire.

Believe it or not, speaker wire gets even more confusing! The 12-gauge speaker wire that is recommended by home theater magazines is usually referring to the AWG (American Wire Gauge) standard of measurement. There are other forms of standards that are not universal in their measurements. For example, a manufacturer of speaker wire may advertise a 10-gauge speaker wire, but in reality it may only offer measurements seen by an AWG 12-gauge or AWG 14-gauge wire.

There are also dirty tactics that can be used in the world of speaker wire. Obviously the copper is the most expensive material used in speaker wire. Aluminum is the second most expensive material used in speaker wire, while plastic is the least expensive material used in speaker wire. Some manufacturer's of speaker wire use very thin copper wire or copper-coated wire, but they still advertise their product as 12-gauge.

The reason these manufacturers do this is because they use incredibly thick plastic wire to coat the metal in a cheap way. These manufacturers don't make their final standard of measurement until after the plastic has been placed over the wire. This is a very immoral thing to do because speaker wire is being sold for a higher price as if it were offering the quality of a higher product. In reality, the speaker wire is not offering high quality performance at all.

I still have not been able to find the following product that I truly do have a desire to purchase: AWG 12-Gauge Oxygen-Free 100% Copper Wire

I can tell you two things from personal experience, though. First, the speaker wire company called Monster Cable charges way too much money for their speaker wire product. Monster Cable doesn't even bother to list the gauge on their product! People who have measured the Monster Cable speaker wire have found it to be somewhere between 15-gauge and 16-gauge. I highly recommend that you purchase a different brand, simply because the only thing you are paying for is the advertisements of this company.

RCA actually makes the best speaker wire. This speaker wire is an AWG 14-Gauge Oxygen-Free 100% Copper Speaker Wire. This product is rated incredibly high by all users on websites such as Amazon.com. The speaker wire sold online costs far less than the prices seen in most retail stores. If you do need to buy this product at a retail store, I recommend ABC Warehouse because they are willing to negotiate with you if you buy several rolls. If only RCA were to release this product in AWG 12-Gauge, I would be the happiest camper in the world!

Sony Projects $1.2 Billion Financial Loss!

Sony is struggling financially. This financial struggling has been going on for seven years at Sony. Last quarter, Sony lost $346 million due to poor sales in electronics (especially TV sets) and videogames, in addition to disappointing results in the movie industry.

Now, Sony has readjusted its fiscal year earnings to show an even more devastating loss than originally expected. Previously, Sony had projected a yearly lost of $769 million, but this has now risen to a loss of $1.2 billion!

Kaz Hirai, Executive Deputy President of Sony, announced “Management is feeling a serious sense of crisis about the seven years of losses.” Hirai continued by saying that he “Promises to lead the turnaround to get Sony out of the red.”

Jeff Ashton is Also Someone We Need to Boycott!

Today I saw a statement Jeff Ashton made while being interviewed on TV. This criminal prosecutor specifically said:

"Everybody just needs to turn the energy that they have into something positive. If you want to do something to honor Caylee then do something to help other children. Don't try to turn it into rage. Turn it into something positive because that honors her. Anything other than that dishonors her."

I, Michael Zoran, am a businessman who graduated at the top of my class. The way I translate the statements made by Mr. Ashton have the following meaning:

"I want to write a book about Caylee Anthony in order to profit from her death. If people are expressing their rage by boycotting products associated with the financial gain of Caylee's death, it means I will be making less money. I want you to stop focusing on helping Caylee gain the justice she deserves. Instead, focus on other children and charities that I may give some of the proceeds of my book to support in an effort to try and increase sales. I will be using the tag line of 'Honoring Caylee' in order to generate positive publicity, but in reality I am doing this to simply gain financially for myself and my publisher."

I learned that the prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson case earned over $1 million from her first book. This prosecutor continues to write new books about the O.J. Simpson case! Books like that need to be boycotted! This is particularly true for any product or TV show that tries to gain financially from the death of innocent little Caylee Anthony.

The fact of the matter is that the best way we can help "honor" Caylee Anthony is by helping her receive the justice that she deserves -- the justice that Prosecutor Jeff Ashton and his legal staff were not capable of providing to Caylee Anthony in the court room. This is the reason why I wrote an article titled "Boycott Of Casey Anthony Starts Here - Sign Up NOW!" This article gives you an opportunity to write a pledge to boycott any product or TV show from anyone or any business attempting to gain financially from the death of Caylee Anthony.

Anything associated with Barbara Walters is something I personally plan on boycotting. You sold out Caylee, Barbara! Sadly, every person doing any form of interview gaining financial profit is also selling out Caylee. TV shows need to set a new industry standard where people will only be interviewed if they volunteer to come on the show for free in a commercial-free environment. That way, we know no form of financial gain at any level is occurring.

Boycott of Casey Anthony Starts Here – Sign Up NOW!

Casey Anthony was found not guilty for the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. But there is no doubt Casey Anthony is guilty of this crime; she murdered her daughter. The very disturbing thing about the American justice system and the American media is that at this point in time Casey Anthony essentially has won the lottery! Casey Anthony has the potential to receive unlimited amounts of money from interviews, signing book deals, signing movie contracts, TV show appearances, and even being part of reality TV shows.

But there is one way we can prevent Casey Anthony from earning huge amounts of money at the expense of her daughter’s life. I am referring to what is defined as a boycott. We can work together to make sure that Casey Anthony does not earn money when books and interviews are published. Similarly, we can work together to make sure Casey Anthony does not earn money when movies and other programs appear on television.

The way to achieve a successful boycott is with numbers; we need to work together as a team. We need to encourage all of our family members and friends to sign up for this boycott. By officially signing up for a boycott, you are committing an action based on faith – your pledge that you will stay true to your personal belief that Casey Anthony does not deserve your money!

I, Michael Zoran, will be the first to officially pledge not to buy any book or magazine associated with Casey Anthony. I will also be the first to pledge not to watch any movie or TV show that is associated with Casey Anthony in any way. Even if Casey Anthony is not an actor in the movie, I still pledge not to watch that movie because I realize Casey Anthony will receive some form of income.

I encourage anyone and everyone reading this article to make a similar pledge, saying you "Pledge to boycott anything from anyone or any business trying to benefit financially from the death of innocent Caylee Anthony." If enough people make this commitment, the result will be a successful boycott. It is very important that we achieve this goal, working together as a society. This boycott will be the last opportunity for 2-year-old Caylee Anthony to receive the justice she deserves.

The simple fact is, there is a very sensitive part of a person’s body located below the belt. This part of the human body is more sensitive than any other body part. It is capable of producing large amounts of both pleasure and pain. I am referring to the wallet!

Caylee Anthony can have justice! But she desperately needs our help! Please, sign up for this boycott by writing a brief pledge similar to the one I wrote. By making this pledge and living up to your promise, you will provide a form of justice to Caylee Anthony.

Update 2: Our pledges to boycott anything associated with the financial gain of the death of Caylee Anthony are working. Today I learned that a pornographic company has officially withdrawn its offer to hire Casey Anthony to star in an XXX-rated movie. The executive said, "It has become obvious to us that Vivid fans, and people in general, want nothing to do with her and that includes a XXX movie."

As a Christian, I never thought I'd be saying this, but the pornographic film industry has set an excellent example for the rest of society to follow. Book publishers need to realize that if they sign a deal with the goal of financial gain from the death of Caylee Anthony, we will not just avoid the purchase of that product. We will boycott products from that entire company from that point on!

The same can be said for retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Amazon. If retailers sell a book dedicated to the financial gain of Caylee's death, it means they get a share of the money. Thus, we will be boycotting that store from that point on! We live in a free society, so if Casey wants to sell a book let her build a website and mail it to you. Retailers will lose our business if they try to financially gain from the death of Caylee Anthony.

Update 3: The Wall street journal has an article explaining that Jose Baez was signed by Paradigm Talent agency then dropped within 6 hours. Obviously, the capitalist business world we live in is feeling the heat from pledges to boycott any person or any business trying to gain financially from the death of innocent Caylee Anthony. Update 4: Jerry Springer has offered Casey Anthony $1 Million if she and her family – George, Cindy, and Lee – will come on his show for an interview. We absolutely must boycott the Jerry Springer show starting NOW! Until Jerry Springer cancels this offer, we will not watch his program. If you want to contact the Jerry Springer show in order to point out you will never watch his show again if he tries to benefit financially from the death of Caylee Anthony, you can do so at this email address: [email protected]. I will be writing a message to Jerry Springer very soon using the power of our group of pledges to knock his greedy socks off.

Personally, I believe Jerry Springer doesn't have the ability to pay $1 million dollars if his life depended on it. I believe Jerry Springer is only using this $1 million offer as a form of publicity in order to increase his ratings. I believe Jerry Springer's plan is to eventually cancel the offer, saying he listened to the "fans," in an effort to increase his ratings. I believe this is a "form" of trying to benefit financially from the death of Caylee Anthony. This means, whether Jerry Springer withdraws his offer or not, it is a good idea to never watch Jerry Springer's TV show again.

Update 5: I just saw on TV that Jerry Springer has officially announced they never made an offer of $1 million to Casey Anthony. If Jerry says so, I guess we can believe him. Of course, the important thing is that Jerry Springer has made it clear that he wants no part of Casey Anthony. This is another round won by Caylee Anthony. If anyone or any business tries to gain financially from the death of Caylee Anthony, it means they will be boycotted!

Update 6: Please visit Change.org in order to sign two petitions to force government to do two things. First, enact Caylee’s Law – requiring parents to report missing children with 24 hours without facing felony charges. Second, keep Casey Anthony from being able to profit off the death of her child by signing “Say NO to Offering Casey Anthony Movie and Book Deals for Profit.”

Update 7: We need to visit Change.org and sign the petition called “The U.S. Supreme Court: Try Casey Anthony in Federal Court.” If this case is brought before the Federal Court, it will be an exception to double jeopardy. From the moment Casey Anthony lied to the FBI she was in violation of The Martha Stewart law. This is a federal offense that comes with a 5-year sentence for each count. First Degree Murder is also a federal offense. Please, we must not let this crime go unpunished. Sign this petition and give Caylee the justice she deserves.

Update 8: There is a new petition in place that prevents jurors from ever profiting from a court case. This will prevent bias associated with finance in the court room. Please sign this petition at this website: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/keep-jurors-from-profiting/

Update 9: I was shopping for some mandatory groceries and medical supplies at Meijer tonight with my mother. In the grocery line, my mom immediately noticed something. Absolutely none of the magazines or newspapers had anything to say about Casey Anthony! This is excellent news; it shows that reputable retailers like Meijer are listening to us. This also shows that magazines and newspapers don't want to risk losing customers as a result of trying to gain financially from the death of innocent Caylee Anthony. (Note: The rumor that Wal-Mart has signed a contract with Casey Anthony for a shirt deal is false).

Update 10: Boycott any and all books published by Trident Media Group. It's very easy to remember if you use some form of association. For example, if Casey Anthony were here you would "Try" to "Dent" her face with a punch. This is a long story, and you can read about it here. 

Update 11: Retailers beware! If you make the mistake of carrying Casey Anthony books, it will cost you! If either Barnes & Noble or Amazon sell one of those books, I will cancel memberships and cancel credit cards. If any store like Wal-Mart, Meijer, or Kroger sells a book about Casey Anthony, I will make sure to buy ALL grocery products from a smaller grocery store even if it means paying higher prices. I encourage each of you to do the same.

Is The Ultimate Warrior on his way to TNA?

Ever since Hulk Hogan arrived in TNA, there have been references to The Ultimate Warrior. Several fans were allowed to speak on camera saying “My two favorite wrestlers when I was a kid were Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior.” This happened several times on a show that is not broadcast live, which is why I know it was intentional. I really believed there was a plan to bring The Ultimate Warrior into TNA at some point in time.

But several injuries to Hulk Hogan’s back may have prevented the Ultimate Warrior from appearing on TNA Wrestling. We know Hulk Hogan was originally scheduled to appear in pay-per-view events, but it was not possible. But that doesn’t mean people such as The Ultimate Warrior and Bill Goldberg aren’t eventually going to make an appearance when the time is right.

Over the last two weeks on Impact Wrestling, Eric Young has made references to The Ultimate Warrior. These were very subtle references that many people may not have noticed. Two weeks ago, Eric Young was the tag team partner of Sting, just as The Ultimate Warrior used to be in the early days of their career. But did you take a look at the boots of Eric Young? They were exactly like the boots of The Ultimate Warrior!

Last week we saw Eric Young continue to wear those boots. There was even a point when Eric Young was referring to people as a “Warrior.” The word “warrior” is not particularly common, but it could have been a coincidence in a wrestling locker room. However, when I see a person wearing boots like The Ultimate Warrior and I hear that person using the word “warrior,” it makes me think it isn’t a coincidence.

Hulk Hogan has repeatedly said his back feels better now than it has in ten years. And over the last two weeks we’ve seen Sting make progress in turning the fans into supporters of Hulk Hogan. I believe Hulk Hogan will turn into a good-guy soon. And when he does, it wouldn’t surprise me if characters such as The Ultimate Warrior and Bill Goldberg make an appearance in TNA. Those two men are two of the greatest wrestlers of all time and they represent untapped human resources in the world.

Are the Kardashians a Waste of Our Time and Money?

The Kardashians are incredibly greedy and selfish people. This family is very self-centered and they care only about themselves and the amount of money in their lives. Each member of the family is also arrogant and narcissistic – trying to be seen as a celebrity or some form of successful entrepreneur or model. In reality, the current generation of Kardashians are not successful in any of these ways!

For example, the overwhelming majority of money in the Kardashian family was generated by the men in the family. Kris Jenner, previously known as Kris Kardashian, is the former wife of Robert Kardashian – a lawyer who earned his living helping criminals such as O.J. Simpson be declared not guilty for murder. You need to give Kris Kardashian credit, though. If it wasn’t for her marriage and divorce, she and her children would not have received so much money to form entrepreneurial businesses with.

Currently, Kris Kardashian is the producer of the TV show her children are a part of. Kris doesn’t care whether her kids appear in pornographic magazines or pornographic videos as long as she is getting a royalty or watching publicity grow. Nobody makes a sex video without the belief that someone else will watch it, which means her daughter Kim knew what was happening when she made that video. Kris Kardashian seems to believe in the philosophy that says “If people are talking about you, it means you must be doing something right.”

Kim Kardashian is one of the three siblings in the Kardashian family. Kim always tries to portray herself as a lovely princess – an innocent virgin waiting for her prince charming in life. But in reality, Kim Kardashian is an immoral slut! In Bible times Kim Kardashian would have been stoned to death. And in today’s society there are still plenty of countries where Kim Kardashian would still be stoned to death!

Do you really think it was an accident that a pornographic video of Kim Kardashian was released? No! Each time something controversial with the Kardashian family was revealed to the media, it happened at a time when they were losing popularity. Obviously the Kardashian family would prefer that good things are said about them, but in Hollywood we have continuously learned that something is better than nothing.

Honestly, Kim Kardashian does not meet the strict requirements needed to be a model in today’s environment. Kim Kardashian is very short – only 5’2” tall. This would be considered too short to do her line of work at most modeling agencies. But, because she inherited money from her wealthy father, she can play the role of a narcissist paying to do things on her own. Sadly, there are actually people dumb enough to pay attention to her!

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick prove that “reality” shows share more in common with professional wrestling than real life. Kourtney has given birth to a son of Scott, yet the couple has not married. This is further proof of the lack of family morals and ethics in the Kardashian family. Perhaps this is because a wedding as a season finale might help spike ratings if popularity sees a decline.

I just want to know how much executive producer, Kris Kardashian, has used money to influence scripts and other events on that so-called reality show. In a real world, if American citizens would have performed the immoral and criminal actions we saw Scott Disick and the Kardashian family do, we would have seen people go to jail! But we don’t see this type of realism on this “reality” show because it isn’t real!

Khloe and Lamar is perhaps the funniest of all, in a bad way. If you own a large HDTV, you can clearly see that half the time Khloe puts on the act of crying there are no tears at all! The bad thing is there are still plenty of people who don’t own HDTV sets. These are the people the Kardashians take advantage of in life by wasting their time and promoting overpriced products.

Robert Kardashian Jr., known as Rob, is another member of the Kardashian family that brings disgrace and shame to his family name and reputation. Currently, he is involved in a friends-with-benefits relationship with multiple people on this reality show. Apparently this form of behavior is fully acceptable to the Kardashian family, as long as “protection” is used.

I think it is absolutely pathetic that Rob Kardashian was allowed to be a part of the 2011 NBA Celebrity Game. Rob Kardashian is not even seen as a celebrity in the eyes of most people, including me! I recognize Rob Kardashian as the son of a high-profile criminal attorney who wasn’t known prior to defending NFL superstar O.J. Simpson. I think it’s a bit disappointing that an immoral person like Rob Kardashian ends up inheriting all that money to invest as an entrepreneur, while plenty of other people out there pray to God and sow seeds in fertile soil, yet they never receive anything.

I also think it’s disturbing that Rob Kardashian is narcissistic enough to believe he can be a model. This man isn’t in particularly great shape and he doesn’t have distinctive features that stand out. Rob Kardashian is often seen in brands of products his family is associated with, but if it wasn’t for those custom products, unusual scarves, and limousines he wouldn’t win a survey as the man who is the model. In comparison, a model like Cindy Crawford would be seen as a model no matter what she was wearing.

It’s actually very disappointing that the Kardashian family would be able to acquire so much wealth in their lives; they certainly didn’t earn it with resources of their own. Rob and Khloe are the only siblings to have attended and graduated college so far. But why bother spending all that time and money on college when you inherited so much money from daddy, right? And you will always be known in the eyes of the media as the Kardashians – the children of the lawyer who was friends with O.J. Simpson (forever known as “Canned Juice”).

Here is something for us to think about, though. If the Kardashians can do what is best for their lives by wasting our money and wasting our time, shouldn’t we be doing what is best for our lives, even if it is at the expense of the Kardashians? For example, rather than wasting hours on the weekend watching those Kardashian television programs, wouldn’t it be better for us to use that time studying, trying to find a job online, or writing a résumé.

The Kardashians are a perfect example of the saying “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” If those young Kardashians had not received a large financial inheritance from their father, you wouldn’t see them in the roles they are today. Thus, the praise should be given to Robert Kardashian Sr. – the man who helped free a murderer.

Transformers & G.I. Joe in High-Definition on Hub HD!

Excellent news for fans of Transformers and G.I. Joe! I was flipping through the channels on my Comcast DVR last night. I saw channel 130, which is the Hub channel. When I selected the Hub channel to watch Transformers, I noticed the screen was also giving me the option to watch in HD on channel 383!

Transformers: Generation 1 comes on at midnight Eastern Standard Time. G.I. Joe is on immediately afterwards. Both shows are presented in a widescreen format; although, I don’t believe this is the original format. I say this because at the end of the show you can see some of the names have been cut off. I really have no idea why the Hub channel doesn’t just show the programs in their original 4:3 ratio.

I can say it really is cool seeing these programs in high-definition. The Hub HD channel also broadcasts these programs in a 5.1 digital sound format. Overall, I’m very pleased Comcast has added this Hub HD channel with some of my favorite programs!

V - Should ABC Film a V Miniseries to Give V the Ending it Deserves?

Recently, I wrote an article titled “ABC Cancels V – But Were Controversial Political Reasons Involved.” One of the Followers of my blog replied by saying ABC should create a miniseries allowing the plot of V to end in a satisfying way. I thought this was an excellent idea, to such an extent that I am now considering contacting ABC this week to speak on behalf of other V fans. I believe it may be fitting for V to conclude as a miniseries, since it started as a miniseries in 1983.

ABC has absolutely no excuse for not allowing a miniseries of V to be filmed. If you take the time to read the detailed response I wrote below, you will learn that we should probably boycott ABC programs if ABC is not willing to allow a V miniseries to be filmed. ABC owes it to viewers, both morally and financially, to film a V miniseries allowing the series to end in a satisfying way. The V series currently has unanswered questions that a miniseries is capable of providing answers for.

Your idea of an ABC miniseries used to conclude the V series is excellent!

As you said, a V miniseries would allow remaining questions in the storyline to be answered in ways that would make fans of the V series happy. A miniseries would be seen on TV, generate advertising revenue for ABC, and it would also allow sales on Blu-ray/DVD to occur. As the V plot currently exists, fans have absolutely no reason to buy V on DVD or Blu-ray, because that would be like buying a book missing the last few chapters.

V is a series that deserved to be aired for a dedicated final season, simply to make fans happy and fill in remaining gaps in the storyline. Fans like us spent a lot of time watching V -- helping ABC generate advertising revenue during each commercial we sat through. I believe ABC owes it to us, both morally and financially, to create a miniseries of V dedicated to concluding the series in the proper way.

Perhaps a miniseries is in fact the fate the new V series was meant to receive all along. After all, a miniseries is how V started out in 1983. Perhaps a miniseries is the way V should go out in 2011.

Do you think we should approach ABC with this idea of a short miniseries for V? It certainly is within their budget! Look at all the movies Steven Seagal films, produces, and puts directly on DVD. ABC certainly has the resources to film a V miniseries put directly on DVD. The cast would be paid relatively well, the product would be sold at a reasonable price, and fans would be happy because the plot answers their questions and gives a proper conclusion to a great TV series.

If ABC is not willing to film a miniseries of V for fans of the series, it literally means ABC does not care about viewers of ABC programs! As of right now, ABC only cares about themselves and the money they can make from viewers. ABC may claim they care for viewers, but what they really mean is that they only care for viewers helping them make money.

With that in mind, should we be watching ABC programs? Perhaps we should boycott ABC programs if ABC executives are not willing to give V the conclusion it deserves in a miniseries. Even if the miniseries was a low-budget project placed directly on DVD, at least fans of the series would be happy.

In the 21st century we live in today, ABC can’t even use logistics expenses as an excuse for not producing a V miniseries. Rather than putting V directly on DVD and shipping the product to stores or allowing it to be sold online, ABC could sell the V miniseries online in an on-demand format. Netflix, Comcast, or Xbox Live would all be capable of allowing viewers to watch a V miniseries in an on-demand format. The bottom line is that ABC has no excuse for not allowing a V miniseries to be filmed in order to calm down the V fans that ABC hyped up!

ABC Cancels V – But Were Controversial Political Reasons Involved?

As a kid growing up in the 1980’s, one of my favorite TV shows was V. The program called V started out as a 1983 sci-fi miniseries based on aliens known as Visitors that were invading Earth. This miniseries expanded to a one-hour TV show airing weekly from 1984 through 1985. Over the years, the V reruns helped gather a very loyal group of followers. This motivated ABC to start a new V series, which first aired in 2009.

When ABC first announced this new series, fans of the original series (including me) were very happy! Unfortunately, the new HD version of V has been cancelled by ABC after just two seasons. Personally, I think this is very disappointing and may involve controversial motives associated with politics. The audience of V was growing and ABC has left a lot of cliffhanger questions in the plot unanswered.

ABC claims that low ratings are the reason why V will not be renewed for a third season. I question if this is the true motive, though. No Ordinary Family and Detroit 1-8-7 also air on Tuesday nights, but V has higher ratings than those two programs which were also cancelled on this Friday the 13th. Although Detroit 1-8-7 started out with impressive ratings, the ratings dropped significantly. But the year-to-year ratings of V clearly showed that the V program had ratings that were increasing as the audience became larger.

One of the really cool things that the new V series did during the second season was bring back Jane Badler to play the role of Diane – the same role she played in 1983. In the new V series, Diane played the mother of the character known as Anna – the Visitor High Commander. Diane had once been Queen but was imprisoned for 15 years because she proposed living in peace with the humans. Although Diane apparently died in the last episode of the second season, you would tend to think that if she survived 15 years and two different shows it would mean the writers could have found a way to bring her back again in the third season. Sadly, we will never know thanks to ABC.

One controversial element that has me wondering if there were underhanded motives for V being cancelled by executives at ABC is the recent death of Osama Bin Laden. Many politicians have always said they noticed parallels between the premise of the show and the Obama administration.

For example, in her review of the V series, Lisa de Moraes of The Washington Post made a relatively big deal about the fact that the series was debuting on the first anniversary of President Obama’s election. In an article titled “ABC Executives Sound Coy About New TV Series Political Edge” she says that phrases in the series (such as “hope” and “change”) made it seem as though “Lou Dobbs had taken over the network, as those things only became popular with the current administration.”

I believe words such as “hope” and “change” are simply common words in the world of politics. And the reason why the Visitors were concerned with offering healthcare to all humans (interpreted as President Obama’s “Universal Healthcare” by Republicans watching the program) is because humans need that type of healthcare system! If this parallels what President Obama is trying to do, it proves that President Obama is aiming high while shooting for the stars and achieving impressive results that are out of this world!

Another example can be found in a review of V that was written by Glenn Garvin of the Chicago Tribune. In an article titled “‘V’ aims at Obamamania,” Garvin called V “controversial,” saying the series was "a barbed commentary on Obamamania that will infuriate the president's supporters and delight his detractors.”

This statement proves that many people believe the script of V was mixed with real-world politics in a controversial way. With that in mind, we need to ask ourselves if President Obama’s recent triumphs over Osama Bin Laden and Pakistan have anything to do with the cancellation of V – a series with a growing market of viewers.

All of the cast and crew of V have repeatedly denied charges of political bias associated with real-world politics. Morena Baccarin is the actress that plays Anna – the leader of the alien Visitors. Baccarin says that she is very surprised by all the controversy, acknowledging that she did model her character after politicians but nobody in particular. This is what makes me wonder if somebody at ABC was motivated to cancel V for political reasons.

Think about this for a moment. If the writers at ABC really were writing scripts based on what was happening with the Obama administration, it would mean the third season of V would be filled with praise and respect for the excellent accomplishments of President Barack Obama. If there were Republican executives at ABC, this would generate a motive for the cancellation of V. Either way, I am very disappointed that ABC cancelled V without giving it the ending it deserved.

I just want to remind the political-minded executives at ABC of one thing. Although the V series may have been cancelled, even though the plot left a lot of questions unanswered and a lot of promises unfulfilled, the same cannot be said of the Obama administration. President Obama has fulfilled the promises he made while running for President of the United States of America!

President Obama has restored the stock market, bailed the entire auto industry out of bankruptcy, passed a universal healthcare coverage plan, won the Nobel Peace Prize honor, and invaded Pakistan without permission in order to kill the most wanted criminal in the world, Osama Bin Laden. If there would have been a third season of V, it would have involved some form of new leader being introduced that had all the abilities of Captain America, Superman, and Professor X all rolled into one!

ABC executives knew this, which may be why they cancelled V. But that won’t stop me from voting for Barack Obama! Please share your thoughts on this subject, especially if you are angry at the way ABC failed to give V the ending it deserved.

Bill Goldberg is Part of TNA Wrestling!

Bill Goldberg is going to be a part of TNA Wrestling!

Tonight on TNA Impact we learned that Goldberg is almost certainly the one giving Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff a hard time each week as an "Executive." (Update: On May 12, 2011 we learned Mick Foley is this "executive." However, Hulk Hogan's twitter page and other reliable sources indicate Bill Goldberg will be coming to TNA Impact.)

Next week's episode of TNA Impact is going to be very exciting because we will learn more about Bill Goldberg, Ric Flair, and Kurt Angle. In a threat to Jeff Jarrett and Karen Jarrett, Kurt Angle made it clear that next he would reveal who the woman is that would "put her hands" on Karen.

Hulk Hogan also seems to think that Ric Flair is a "potential candidate" as the one giving him so much trouble each week. However, Hogan and Bischoff seem to agree that they've been around Ric Flair long enough to know it isn't him -- although he is still a candidate as the person causing trouble. At the end of the TNA Impact show we were left with the cliffhanger that Goldberg is probably coming to TNA soon!

I'm very excited to learn that Goldberg will be a part of TNA!

However, I'm very disappointed to learn that Jay Lethal has been "fired" by Hulk Hogan! Jay Lethal is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. Seeing Jay Lethal play the role of Black Machismo (imitating Macho Man Randy Savage) or seeing him imitate Ric Flair is incredibly entertaining! Let's hope either Bill Goldberg or Dixie Carter can rehire Jay Lethal.

Bill Goldberg is one of the best untapped resources in the wrestling industry right now. Hiring him will be great for ratings and great for business overall. However, I just don't see the logic in firing Jay Lethal.

Now, if TNA can just get The Ultimate Warrior and Jay Lethal, I think TNA would have no problem becoming the highest rated wrestling program on TV. Jay Lethal is currently working with Ring of Honor and is scheduled to make his debut soon.

UPDATE: On May 12 we learned Mick Foley is the "Executive" that has been giving Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff a difficult time. However, reliable sources continue to say Bill Goldberg will be brought to TNA Impact. On Twitter, Hulk Hogan was asked if he would like to bring Bill Goldberg to TNA Wrestling. Hulk Hogan replied by saying, "Bill Goldberg would blow the roof off the place." This seems to confirm many reports indicating Bill Goldberg is currently in negotiation with TNA.

Let's hope this is true! ... And let's hope Spike TV upgrades from outdated 2.0 stereo sound to 5.1 surround sound!

Kelly McGillis - Acting No Longer Defines Her

Kelly McGillis is known best for the amazing role she played in the 1986 movie, Top Gun. Although she has continued to be an actress in Hollywood, she makes it clear that she no longer believes acting defines her life or personality. Kelly McGillis specifically explained that she has grown and matured over the course of her life.

When asked about this subject, Kelly responded by saying “I have a lot of other interests I'm passionate about and I'm willing to explore what they might be." For example, McGillis specifically said she enjoys stage work in plays such as The Graduate. Kelly McGillis also said she is passionate about helping a clinic in New Jersey that deals with people needing encouragement and assistance overcoming problems that deal with alcohol abuse and substance abuse.

In Top Gun we saw that Kelly McGillis worked for the military; she was familiar with controversial projects dealing with the Soviet Union. But Top Gun was just a movie. In the real world we see that Kelly McGillis is a class act because she is passionate about helping others. This type of defining role is what she may take pride in more than any other, since this is what she will always be remembered for most in the lives of people she has helped.

Where did Optimus Prime's Trailer Go When He Transformed?

Optimus Prime is one of the greatest characters of all time. Every day, I would get home from school and watch Transformers on TV. And every day I would see the Decepticons come up with a plan to defeat the Autobots. And, you guessed it, every day I would see Optimus Prime play a key role in saving our planet from being conquered by Megatron.

The Transformers come from the planet Cybertron. Every Transformer has the ability to change shape into at least one other type of vehicle, weapon, or device. This helps each transformer gain power, usefulness, and marketability.

I mention the term marketability because all of the Transformers started out at toys. The producers of the Transformers often talked about the pride they felt after being able to take existing toys and place them in an excellent story. Usually, it is the other way around – characters in a TV show being turned into toys.

Unfortunately, some of the transformers experienced fundamental flaws with the way their toys and overall design interacted with the TV show. These flaws were so basic that even little kids realized something was wrong. This often motivated both children and adults to ask questions about why certain things were happening.

The Transformers first appeared on TV in 1984. Now, in 2011 there are still several questions those children and adults still want answered. At the top of the list is the famous question, “Where does Optimus Prime’s trailer go when he transforms into a robot?”

I’m now going to list several of these puzzling questions. I’m going to try and brainstorm the situation in order to solve the problem. I’m going to analyze what works and what doesn’t. Hopefully, we will have some answers that lead to a definitive conclusion by the time I’m done with this analysis.

Now, on to the list of puzzling questions:

* Where does Optimus Prime’s trailer go when he transforms?

* Megatron is the same size as Optimus Prime when the two of them are in robot mode. Optimus Prime transforms into a huge truck. But Megatron transforms into a gun small enough to fit into the hands of his fellow Decepticons. Is this reduction in size achieved with an increase of density? If so, Megatron would be a very heavy gun! Or, does this mean Megatron’s weight decreases whenever his size decreases in order to make it easy for other Transformers to aim him?

* Soundwave is the same size as Megatron and Optimus Prime. Soundwave has the ability to transform into a tape player so small that he fits in the hands of a human being such as Spike Witwicki. This strongly suggests that the density of Soundwave has not remained the same; otherwise he would be far too heavy for Spike to lift. So the question is, “How can Soundwave become small enough and light enough to fit into the hands of a human being and be lifted effortlessly?”

The next subject is really an interesting paradox that has left me wondering quite a few times. Tell me your thoughts on these subjects:

* Megatron has the ability to decrease his size to the point that his fellow Decepticons can use him as a lightweight weapon. However, Megatron apparently does not have the ability to decrease his size or weight to the point that a human being such as Spike Witwicki can use him as a lightweight weapon.

For example, after being dropped, Megatron was on the ground as a gun. As a gun, Megatron was even larger than Spike! Megatron was also so heavy that Spike could barely move him. But it appeared there was no way for Megatron to resize himself to be small enough for Spike to fire.

What I want to know is why Megatron remains heavy when he becomes smaller. And why does Megatron’s size appear to be limited? If Soundwave can become small enough and light enough for Spike to place in his hand, why does Megatron remain heavy?

* Astrotrain was a triple-changer that transformed into both a train and a space shuttle. As a robot, Astrotrain was the size of Megatron and Optimus Prime. It seemed reasonable that Astrotrain could turn into the front of a train or even a space shuttle, since Optimus Prime turns into a huge truck. But in Transformers the movie we see that Astrotrain has turned into a space shuttle so huge that he is carrying dozens of Decepticons! How in the world could Astrotrain transform into something so large? And if Astrotrain had that ability, why didn’t he just keep on getting bigger so that he could kill off all the Autobots?

* Soundwave and Blaster both transform into tape players. It’s true the Transformers crashed on our planet over four-million years ago, but were they really that far behind us in that area of technology?

I’m now going to investigate some hypotheses and theories about why these paradoxes seem to exist. Hopefully, I will be able to come up with some answers now that the questions have been clearly asked. If you have some ideas, please feel free to write about them here.

First, we know that the trailer is a separate part of Optimus Prime. We also know that he does have the ability to walk into the trailer and use it as a form of battle station; although, we only saw this happen a very small number of times. My only theory right now has to do with the fact that the original Transformers TV show was broadcast in a 4:3 ratio. Perhaps if the show had been broadcast in a widescreen format we would have seen that trailer transformed into a battle station next to prime all along in every episode!

Second, we know that several transformers have the ability to change their size when they transform. In Transformers: The Movie, Astrotrain told Starscream that it was necessary to “Jettison some weight” or else they would never make it back to Cybertron. This seems to indicate there are limits on how far a transformer can modify its size.

Third, Soundwave was able to become so small and so lightweight that a human being could place him in his hand for the purpose of deception. Perhaps the reason why Megatron appeared unable to do so was because he never had a desire to allow a human to use him as a weapon. The fact that Spike was able to lift Megatron at all in his reduced size suggests there is a weight reduction ratio that exits when a transformer changes its size. Although Megatron’s smaller size was still heavy to Spike, Megatron probably was still lightweight to other Transformers firing him such as Starscream or Skywarp.

The one problem that isn’t answered by this has to do with the scientific way Soundwave is able to become so incredibly lightweight. We seem to have proven that a mathematical ratio of size and weight exists when a transformer changes its size. However, we sill haven’t proven the way that this occurs. You are welcome to share your thoughts on this issue.

Does the mass of the transformer decrease in some way when size and weight are changed? If so, are dimensions other than space and time involved? Perhaps Soundwave speeds his cassette tapes faster than the speed of light in a circular motion (increasing mass and gravity), contains the reaction with his powerful eject button, and transfers some weight to another dimension – similar to what some scientists believe occurs in a black hole.

But if that is the case, how would Megatron and Astrotrain do the same? Megatron’s specifications on his box say that his technology is based on anti-matter, so this may be possible. And perhaps Astrotrain’s rocket technology is based on a nuclear source of energy, which would explain why he needs to be a triple changer in the form of a train. You are welcome to share your thoughts on this issue.

Last but certainly not least is why Soundwave and Blaster would need audiocassettes over four-million years ago on the planet Cybertron. I think the main thing we need to remember is that Teletraan 1 changed most of the Transformers in at least some way in order to make them compatible with the culture that existed on our planet in 1984. In all likelihood, Soundwave and Blaster probably did not use audiocassettes on Cyberton.

Gears of War 3 is King of Graphics and Co-Op Gameplay!

Gears of War is generally considered the greatest Third-Person Shooter game series ever released. This has been proven time after time by incredibly high reviews from professional sources and incredibly high ratings from all the reliable fans in the world. Gears of War is the games series that has spent more time on top of the graphics throne than any other videogame series this generation. 

Recently a new game called Crysis 2 was released for the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 version of Crysis 2 has been called “The most graphically impressive game ever released for any console.” But Gears of War 3 definitely proves that Gears of War 3 is the new champion waiting to be crowned when it launches this September. 

One of the main reasons why Crysis 2 looks so great is because you can see so far into the distance – far further than a game like Killzone 3 on the PS3. The campaign of Crysis 2 is amazing in that aspect. The outdoor environments are filled with realistic types of lighting, shading, reflections, and lens flare that most First-Person Shooter games don’t focus much attention on. Cyrsis 2 obviously uses the newest technology available to developers in modern-day graphics engines. 

Gears of War 3 uses graphics technology based on the newest version of Epic’s Unreal Graphics Engine – the most popular graphics engine this generation. Developers programming Gears of War 3 now have access to all sorts of graphics techniques that were not previously available in videogames. Gears of War 3 is a showpiece designed to illustrate all of the amazing graphic and gaming features developers will now have access to if they use the new Unreal graphics engine technology that Epic has created. 

This is the reason why Gears of War 3 has such an incredibly high development budget and developers are taking their time to make sure everything about the game is nearly perfect. Normally, shooting games such as Call of Duty, Halo, and Gears of War are limited to two years of development time. But Gears of War 3 has been given three years of development time so developers know how to use all that new graphics technology. The thought of the skilled developers at Epic having that much time to work on Gears of War 3 really puts a smile on my face. 

Gears of War 2 used the same graphics engine as the first Gears of War game. Only minor adjustments were made to improve graphics. The reason for this is because the first game was created in about two years, while the second game was actually released with less than two years time of development. Gears of War 3 is the first Gears of War sequel that will be using technology that has been significantly updated.

Gears of War 3 almost looks like a "next-gen" type of game because it is so far ahead of Gears 1 and Gears 2 in so many ways. Gears of War 3 has an incredibly far-reaching line of sight, similar to Crysis 2. When you are playing in an environment where it is possible to see small details from a far distance, you see all of those details in Gears of War 3. 

What’s even more amazing is that weather has an affect on virtually everything. The lighting, shading, reflections and lens flare are just as good as Crysis 2, if not better. But Gears of War 3 takes this a step further by adding storms, lightning, rain, and other environmental affects that are each influenced by moving objects and weather. The reason for this is because the new Unreal Engine has so many graphics modifications and improvements, it is absolutely incredible! 

I studied the new Unreal Engine and everything new to Gears of War 3. Like I said, there are all sorts of weather tricks and graphic techniques to make fire, smoke, wind, lighting, shading, and reflections react perfectly in relation to everything else. For example, now we see Cole's Thrashball helmet has high-gloss reflections and lighting, just like a real football helmet. 

Another example would be how the women in Gears of War 3 have faces and hair with so many polygons it looks vastly superior to other games. For example, I was watching how a new female villain character in Uncharted 3 has an area of the face around the jaw area that is made up of straight lines instead of curves. Having a face that isn’t curved shows there’s not enough polygons available for the character in that graphics engine. It isn’t like that in Gears of War 3 where the female characters have nicely curved faces. 

This can also be applied to hair seen on characters, which is why it is much more noticeable when looking at a female. In Uncharted 3 the female villain looks like she has about four or five patches of texture-mapped polygon hair, similar to a low-polygon PS2 game. These patches of hair are clumped together in a triangular way that doesn’t look realistic compared to the men in Uncharted. In Gears of War 3 the females have nicely designed hair that curves and runs smoothly, even blowing in the wind while fighting during thunderstorms! 

One look at Gears of War 3 and you will see the new Unreal Engine is absolutely phenomenal. This is particularly true when used with the high-power GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) of the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 GPU is the most powerful GPU ever in a gaming console. 

The way Epic has it set up so you can customize and unlock your weapons in Gears of War 3 is awesome. The thought of having a pink lancer or an orange shotgun really brings a smile to my face for one simple reason: it is fun! This is the Gears of War equivalent to having a Star Wars collection of light sabers with various colors. 

The way Gears of War 3 has 4-player Co-Op in the Campaign mode is fantastic! There are parts of the Gears of War 3 Campaign where you will be fighting alongside all four of your teammates. There will be other times where two of you split down one road and two of you split down another road, and then meet up somewhere. And there will even be certain spots where all four of you split up on your own! 

During these co-op moments, all of you will still be talking with each other on your Xbox Live headset microphone. Even when you are split apart from your teammates, you will be telling your friends what or whom you are fighting against. Just hearing about what your friends are going through, hearing them say things like “Whoa!” and “Man that hurt!” and “I finally got that guy!” is going to add to the fun of Gears of War 3! 

Gamestop is the best place to preorder Gears of War 3. You get the ability to play a beta test of Gears 3 later this month. You will be helping to improve the game! Plus, you will also be able to earn custom forms of weapons, armor, helmets, and other stuff that can be used in the final version of the game when it is released in September! With your input and suggestions, virtually every aspect of Gears of War 3 is going to be nearly perfect! 

And just so you know, those custom forms of weapons, armor, helmets, shields, and other items are actually valuable in the real world! Believe it or not, custom items like those sell for quite a bit of money online! Gears of War 2 launched with a special Golden Lancer if you preordered the game. I’ve seen the token code that allows you to get that Golden Lancer being sold for hundreds of dollars online! 

Gears of War 3 is definitely ahead of the pack! It will definitely be the king of graphics when this year comes to an end, and it will have the best Co-Op Campaign mode any Gears of War game has ever seen. There is even a new mode where we get to play “as” the Locusts and beat up on the COG soldiers such as Marcus Fenix, Dom, Cole, Anya, and the oldest brother in the family, Clayton Carmine (seeking revenge for the death of his younger brothers). 

Gears of War 3 is definitely a winner, so preorder now while you still can! … And let’s hope the character named Clayton Carmine lives!

MacGruber: Profanity Stopped a Great Movie From Being Truly Great

 

Recently I watched a movie called MacGruber. This movie is based on a skit that is a part of the Saturday Night Live TV show. I thought the movie was very funny, and the actors did a perfect job of portraying their characters. The one area that MacGruber disappointed me was the way the movie was gratuitously filled with obscenities and sexual gestures that were completely unnecessary. 

MacGruber made it clear from the beginning that the movie was probably going to be like this. Within five minutes, the movie has a theme song saying “They made an f-ing movie.” But in the movie they don’t edit the “f” word the way I just did. It may be funny to some people to hear this, but it would have sent the exact same message and been just as funny if the song would have said “They made a ‘freakin’’ movie.” 

There are also a countless number of scenes in MacGruber that make gratuitously obscene sexual references. These parts of the movie are actually the least funny parts of the movie. When I saw this movie, most people were in awe that the movie would include such a thing. People were focused on saying things like “gross” and “what the” more than they were focused on laughing. 

From a broader point of view, something has me concerned. When MacGruber eventually ends up on TV channels, it will be edited so that it is essentially a PG movie. The sexual scenes will be completely removed, and all of the obscene swear words will be gone, too. Kids and parents will absolutely love MacGruber when they see an edited version. MacGruber is a very funny movie with no disappointments when presented in that manner! This is the way the movie should have been presented to the audience all along. Parents will gladly decide to purchase this movie on DVD for their kids, because they believe it is a great movie. 

When those parents put the DVD into the player for their kids, they are in for a BIG surprise! All of those swear words and sexual scenes that didn’t appear on TV are going to be there in the DVD. This is a real disappointment because those scenes actually make the movie less funny. The director and producer did a poor job by allowing those scenes to be a part of MacGruber. 

I know this is going to happen because when I was a kid there was a movie called National Lampoon’s Vacation. My family first saw this movie on TV and we thought it was hilarious – a great movie to watch with your family. But when we purchased the movie on VHS cassette, we essentially saw a completely different film. All sorts of sexual scenes and swear words appeared in the VHS cassette that were not a part of the movie that had been edited when it was broadcast on TV. 

Our solution in the 80’s was to simply buy a blank VHS cassette and record the edited version of National Lampoon’s Vacation the next time it was broadcast on TV. But people today won’t be able to do that so easily. Only a small percentage of the market owns a DVD Recorder. And there is no such thing as a Blu-ray recorder currently available. (Blu-ray is a format with a short life expectancy, in my opinion; that’s why I don’t waste money on it). 

I really believe directors and producers need to think with a broader scope when developing a movie like MacGruber. The movie easily could have been rated PG-13 instead of rated R. This would have opened the movie up to a larger audience and it would have seen more revenue at the box office. The same logic can be applied to the DVD discs available for sale. 

Personally, I wish DVD movies would give us the option of selecting whether we want to watch the movie in its original format or in some form of edited “family” format. This would make it so everyone could be happy. I’m actually hoping for a sequel to MacGruber. I think there’s a pretty good chance a sequel will be made, since the storyline allows it and because MacGruber earned a profit. Let’s just hope the next movie doesn’t rely include unnecessary obscenities that actually make the movie less fun to watch.
